Carr Center Academy

If you are an educator or parent looking for opportunities to help students express their talent, the Carr Center is here to help. We offer programs for elementary through high school students, including our Summer Arts Academy, master classes, "Day in the Carr" experiences tailored to a variety of artistic disciplines, as well as multidisciplinary programs. Carr Center educational partners include Jazz at Lincoln Center, University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University. 

A Day in the Carr is a day performance, artistic exploration, and hands on skill development at the Carr Center geared towards middle and high school students.

Summer Arts Academy is designed to provide an immersive and rigorous educational experience, fostering and nurturing the skills students develop throughout the program. This summer’s Academy is an expansion of our successful Summer Arts Camps that have been offered for more than a decade. Programs include: Young Artists in Training, Jazz Academy, Dance Academy Art in the Park and Art in the Studio. Living Arts Summer Residential Lab is a collaborative project with University of Michigan where students live on campus and participate an interdisciplinary educational experience.

Jazz at Lincoln Center is  an educational partnership exploring the history of Detroit's jazz legacy while celebrating local jazz performers in live performance. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring classroom Civics, History and Music topics alive for your elementary through high school students.
